Our client is an international global leader providing a full range of engineering services and technical solutions to its industrial customers worldwide, principally serving heavy industries. Their Automation department located in Hainaut designs automated solutions/equipment’s for industrial process control applications.

Directly reporting to the Mechatronics & Automation Manager, and in close collaboration with Engineering and Purchasing Departments, you’ll be in charge of Automation engineering activities to design and specify new robotic solutions in due time and within dedicated budget. The main responsibilities of your role are: R&D activities related to automation of AR robotic applications, full set of automation engineering required to launch globally AR robotic applications like PLC coding, shop tests and commissioning. But also compliance sustainability of R&D and engineering activities according to local regulations, international standards and Group policies. Your main accountabilities will be R&D activities to conceptualize and to develop new robotic solutions according to the Group vision: fully automatic applications with no man operation (only supervision). You’ll work on automation engineering activities to design and specify new robotic solutions. You’ll coordinate assembly works related to process automation equipment’s in the workshop. You’ll execute factory acceptance tests and shop tests for new AR robotic applications. You’ll commissioning and give technical assistance services for regional M&T teams and customers across all regions (30% travel). You’ll develop standard documents (i.e. technical specifications, I/O lists, functional descriptions…) related to executed projects. You’ll be recognized technical expert on AR robotic applications across all regions (NAFTA, EMEA, ASIA…). You’ll cooperate with other mechatronics, automation and R&D engineers to develop new robotic solutions and application technologies.
You’ve a Master's degree in engineering specialized in Automation or electro-mechanics, you presents a relevant experience of min 10 years in robotic or automation project management, especially for Industry such as steelmaking, glassmaking, foundry, automotive, mining… You’ve min. 5 years’ experience in PLC programming and with HMI applications (ideally Siemens TIA portal) and min. 5 years’ practical experience with customer’s site activities such as technical servicing and commissioning. You’ve got wide experience in very diverse skills (hydraulic, pneumatic, motors, valves…) gained from practical problem-solving experiences performed on operating site. You have good knowledge of automation (PLC programming: Step 7), electrical CAD tools, pc programming (C, C++, or other language) and in electromechanical engineering... You present relevant experience in robot programming (Kuka, Fanuc…), SCADA applications (Wonderware, WinCC…), in process design (flowsheet, PID’s…), process dimensioning (mass & energy balances, chemical reactions…) and cold & hot commissioning (point-to-point tests, individual tests, sequence tests…). Knowledge of high temperature (melted iron or glass) process technology is an asset. You’ve ability to negotiate with vendors on multiple aspects such as price, delivery time, claims, payment conditions… You’re used to work across multiple international sites and in a cross-cultural environment. You’re Opened to extensive international travelling (rate 30%). You’re an hands on engineer, field oriented, with a good practical feeling. Your English is fluent.
